The Three Pillars of This Kiteboarding Camp
Elite Coaching
Two top-level coaches combine their experience to deliver progression-focused coaching in semi-private groups, using proven methods and real-time communication on the water.
Premium Platform
A brand-new, high-speed luxury yacht operated by The Windseekers allows access to multiple spots, more flexibility with conditions, and a level of comfort rarely found in kite trips.
Operational Excellence
The Windseekers handle all logistics, safety, and daily operations, from beach assistance to onboard service, creating a seamless, stress-free experience from start to finish.
The Spot and Conditions
The Red Sea offers access to a collection of remote islands that can only be reached by boat. Anchoring close to shore allows us to use a small zodiac to reach the beach, where you’ll ride in crystal-clear turquoise water and perfectly flat, buttery conditions.
Wind conditions can vary throughout the week, typically ranging from 15 to 30 knots, depending on the weather system during the trip. This flexibility, combined with the mobility of the yacht, allows us to position ourselves at the best possible spot for the conditions each day
What to expect?
Coaching
With BB Talkin headsets, you’ll receive real-time, tailored feedback during every session. This cutting-edge system ensures you only hear tips meant for you, even as I switch focus between riders. Coaching is conducted in semi-private sessions, pairing you with another rider at a similar level for a personalized experience.
Video Analysis
Take your progression to the next level with video analysis sessions after your rides. By reviewing your performance frame by frame, we’ll pinpoint areas for improvement and highlight what you’re doing well. This focused feedback helps solidify techniques and ensures every session builds toward your goals.
Theory Lessons
In order to maximize your performance on the water, theory lessons provide the essential knowledge behind techniques, gear, and conditions. These focused sessions ensure you understand the “why” behind the “how,” giving you the tools to tackle challenges and progress with confidence.
Luxury Yacht Service
Enjoy a fully catered experience where every detail is taken care of on board. From freshly prepared meals and snacks to attentive daily service, the yacht provides a comfortable and relaxed base so you can focus entirely on riding and recovery.
Photography
Work with a professional photographer to capture stunning action shots of your time on the water, showcasing your progress and style. You’ll also receive candid photos from around the camp, preserving the unique moments and atmosphere of the trip. These images provide a lasting memory of your experience, both on and off the water.
Zodiac Beach Transfers
Reach each riding spot effortlessly with fast zodiac transfers from the yacht to the beach. Your gear is handled for you, making it easy to move back and forth between sessions and return on board for lunch or a break whenever you want.
Accomodation on board
The luxury yacht is the heart of the SA Masterclass Red Sea camp, combining comfort, mobility, and complete freedom. Living on board allows us to stay close to the best riding locations, adapt daily to the conditions, and access remote spots unreachable from land. With spacious cabins, high-end communal areas, and full onboard service, the yacht is designed to support both focused progression and proper recovery. After a full day on the water, it’s the perfect place to relax, share experiences with fellow riders, and enjoy life at sea.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many hours of coaching will I receive?
Over the course of the week, you’ll receive approximately 12 hours of coaching and guidance. This includes five semi-private on-water coaching sessions of around one hour each (weather permitting), focused on personalized feedback tailored to your needs. In addition, group water sessions, theory lessons, and video analysis are included, creating a balanced schedule that provides clear direction while leaving plenty of time for freeriding and practice.
How does the semi-private coaching work?
Semi-private coaching is done in pairs, matching you with another rider of a similar level to ensure focused progression. Both riders wear helmets with BB Talkin headsets, allowing for real-time feedback on the water. Audio is switched between riders so you only hear tips relevant to you. Depending on the conditions, coaching is done either by walking into the water with you or by following with a kite to provide the best possible support.
How is coaching divided between the two coaches?
Coaching during the camp is shared between Steven Akkersdijk and Giel Vlugt, with the total on-water coaching time split between both coaches. As this results in an uneven distribution of sessions, we will do our best to accommodate any preference for a specific coach, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Working with both coaches is part of the strength of this camp. By rotating between Steven and Giel, you benefit from different perspectives, coaching styles, and technical insights, giving you a broader and more complete understanding of your riding and progression.
Can I book additional coaching?
The camp is structured to deliver optimal coaching within the set schedule. Additional coaching sessions are not available during the camp itself, but you’re welcome to get in touch to arrange extra coaching in the weeks before or after the trip.
What skill level do I need?
Participants should be independent riders who can comfortably ride upwind. To get the most out of the camp, it’s recommended that you already have some experience with jumping and basic rotations, such as a backroll. It’s also important that you’ve been riding regularly before the camp to be familiar with current conditions and kite control, as arriving after a long break will limit how much you can progress during the week.
Can I request specific coaching goals?
Absolutely. The camp is tailored to your personal objectives. Together, we’ll assess your current level and use the semi-private coaching sessions to work toward the specific goals you want to achieve.
What kite sizes should I bring?
For a Red Sea kite safari in late May, most riders will be well covered with kite sizes between 7m and 12m, depending on body weight and riding style. Wind conditions typically range from 15 to 30 knots, but can vary throughout the week, so it’s recommended to check the forecast closer to departure and pack with flexibility in mind.
Do I need to bring my own gear?
Yes, kiteboarding equipment is not included in the trip price, so you’ll need to bring your own gear. If you prefer to travel light or don’t have your own equipment, The Windseekers can provide rental gear on request. Please contact us well in advance so we can coordinate availability and ensure the setup suits your needs.
Do I need a wetsuit?
At the end of May in the Red Sea, water temperatures are comfortably warm — generally in the mid-20s to high-20s°C, which means you can comfortably kite in boardshorts or a shorty without getting cold. A shorty wetsuit is the preferred choice for impact protection and longer sessions, especially if you plan to spend many hours on the water.
What happens if there is no wind?
While the Red Sea is known for consistent wind, lighter days can occasionally occur. In those moments, we’ll make the most of the setting with activities such as snorkeling, stand-up paddling, recovery time on board, and additional theory or video analysis sessions, ensuring the time remains valuable and enjoyable even without wind.
What should I pack?
Life on board means limited access to shops or replacement gear, so it’s important to come well prepared. To stay comfortable, protected, and focused on progression throughout the week, we recommend bringing the following items: Impact vest, helmet, rash guard or lycra, booties, boardshorts or shorty wetsuit, sunscreen, sunglasses, dry bag, reusable water bottle, seasickness medication (if needed), personal medication.
Can I bring a partner?
Yes, partners are welcome when booking a private cabin. Please note that a private cabin includes one coaching spot. If your partner would like to participate in the coaching and theory sessions, a shared cabin rate applies, as coaching spots are allocated per person.
Will we have private spaces on board?
Yes. The yacht is reserved exclusively for our group and offers a comfortable balance between shared and private spaces. All cabins feature private bathrooms, while multiple indoor and outdoor lounge areas provide space to relax, unwind, and connect with fellow participants.
Can I arrive earlier or stay longer before or after the camp?
Hotel stays before or after the camp are not included, but we’re happy to advise on accommodation options in Hurghada if you plan to arrive earlier or depart later.
How do I get to the yacht?
The trip starts and ends in Hurghada. Airport transfers to and from Hurghada Airport are included, and Windseekers will coordinate all logistics to ensure a smooth arrival and departure.
Internet & Connectivity
Wi-Fi is available on board and operates via the local mobile network. Due to the remote nature of many of the islands we visit, internet and mobile coverage can be limited or inconsistent at times.
As a result, connection speeds may be slow and video calls are not recommended while we are anchored in remote locations. This is a general limitation across all kite yachts in the Red Sea, and unfortunately satellite-based alternatives such as Starlink are currently not available in Egypt. We recommend planning accordingly and treating the trip as a chance to disconnect and fully focus on riding and recovery.
